Admittedly this isn’t as interesting as actually choosing the lingerie, but knowing her size is one of the most important parts of a successful gift. If you don’t already know her size there’s no need to worry because you can find out easily enough by looking through her underwear drawer! We wouldn’t normally advocate this sort of behaviour but on this occasion it may be essential.

If you look on the label of her knickers or thongs you should find either a number or word like these: small (8-10), medium (10/12) or large (14). Some of our lingerie also extends to extra small (8) and up to X Large (16) and XX Large (18). You can also find out this number by looking at the label in her suspenders, skirts or trousers if you can’t find it on her knickers.

Good question. It can depend on what the occasion is but most importantly 
it needs to be lingerie that she will love to wear as much as you 
will to see her in it!

Bras. A great way to start looking for a bra is to go to our 
'All bras' page and on the left you’ll see our handy bra finder where you can enter her bra size to see all of the items that are available. For the style of bra you can choose one which appeals to you, but it’s also worth noting what sort of bras she already has in her underwear drawer. If she has a smaller cup size (A or B) and most of her bras have padding in them, you may want to get her a padded bra to help give her an added confidence boost. And we all know that feeling confident is the first step to feeling sexy!

Briefs, thongs, boyshorts or Brazilian briefs?

Some ladies prefer wearing one type of knicker, and some like a variety to suit their mood or occasion – so there’s no hard and fast rule here (just try not to pick a style that you’ve never seen her wear as chances are she won’t like it).

Here’s the science bit: Boyshorts or shortys normally sit on the hips covering the entire bottom – for a visual idea think about those gold hot pants that Kylie wore in ‘that’ music video! Next up we have briefs which are the more traditional style of knicker shape. Then we have thongs or g strings which we’re sure you’ll already be aware of, but just in case, these have little or no coverage over the bottom.

And finally we’ve got Brazilian briefs which are cut higher than briefs over the bottom, but aren’t as revealing as a thong.

Stockings & suspenders?

For a seriously feminine and sexy feel you can’t beat the classic look of suspender belts and stockings. There are a lot of suspender belts to choose from but one recommendation would be to pick suspender belts that have matching bras and thongs or briefs to create a perfectly coordinated and sensual outfit.

Corset tops. Also known as basques, another classic lingerie favourite, corset tops, are a fabulous way to get her to show off her feminine curves. Most corset tops are boned at the front and sides as well as having a bra to enhance her shape. These are a definite hit with the ladies for every occasion.
